National Workshop in Spencerville Ontario

I just came back from a two day Master Class workshop that was full of Paverpol Instructors from across Canada. It was a very intense weekend of learning techniques from Jossy de Roode (Paverol International).

The big project we did was a Canada Goose. We learned all about building a strong armature.

We then filled out the structure.

And covered it in the first layer of Paverpol and fabric.

We had to put them in the sun the next day to dry before we put on a second layer of Paverpol and Paveplast.

As we got ready for day two, a flock of Canada Geese flew by overhead and we joked that maybe they would be attracted to our geese and land for a bit.

The second project we did was working with Paverpol and Artstone to form a clay. We also used textures and dry pigment to achieve a different type of look.

The third part was taught by Lizzie. It was how to sculpt a face out of clay that could be used with our Paverpol pieces. She taught a basic, simple technique for shaping features.

I'm pleased with how my first sculpted head turned out. He even looks self satisfied on my behalf. It was a wonderful workshop and I was very happy to meet so many talented people from across Canada. I took away a lot of ideas and techniques that I know I will find helpful as I continue to sculpt my bigger, and bigger pieces.

Thank you for stopping by to talk

I had a wonderful time at the Sussex Giant Flea Market despite the rain. I met some wonderful people and consider some of them new friends. There seemed to be a lot of interest in my upcoming classes.

See you there.
